This 195 m² residence in Samarth City, Gandhinagar, was designed for a family of four as a dialogue between Gujarati-Rajwadu heritage and Greek classical influence. Spread across two floors, the home brings traditional craftsmanship into contemporary family living through Lippan art, classical columns, chestnut-toned wood, stone textures and a restrained pastel palette. The entrance establishes this cultural fusion immediately, creating an identity that continues through the living, dining and private spaces.
A dedicated pooja area features a CNC-cut wooden backdrop softened by sheer curtains, while the dining space combines stone panelling, a wooden table and Rajwadu-inspired upholstered chairs. Classical references are interpreted more minimally in the living room, preventing the heritage language from overwhelming the home. In contrast, the kitchen prioritises modern functionality with integrated appliances, tandem drawers and overhead storage. Together, craft, classical geometry and contemporary planning create a distinctly Indian family home rooted in heritage without becoming traditional in execution.
